Community Action Malvern and district

 

Community Action helps to bring local voluntary groups together so that they can share their specialist knowledge and support older people and those with disabilities.

Services include:

Community cars, including wheelchair vehicles and minibus

Helping hands for domestic help and gardening

Sunday Tea Clubs twice a month

Classic Cinema Club

The Office is open from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm Monday – Thursday, Friday 9.00am until 12.30pm. There is an answerphone for all other times Please note that your queries can be dealt with by any member of staff.

Befriending services offer supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people with mental health problems who would otherwise be socially isolated.
A Learning Disability is the disorder that affects the brain's ability to receive and process information. This disorder can make it problematic for a person to learn as quickly or in the same way as someone who isn't affected by a learning disability.
Disability, according to the World Health Organization, is "...an umbrella term, covering impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. An impairment is a problem in body function or structure; an activity limitation is a difficulty encountered by an individual in executing a task or action; while a participation restriction is a problem experienced by an individual in involvement in life situations.
